Numerical analyses of steel reinforced concrete beam

Scope of work:

  • development of numerical model
  • preparing and conduction numerical analyses with finite element method (FEM)
  • assessment of structural strength for steady-state and transient fire boundary conditions

Results:

  • determined load capacity of the reinforced beam as function of fire temperature
  • experimental verification of the results
FEM method

Developed numerical model for structural analyses and thermal transient analyses allowed to determine reinforced beam load capacity. Conducted fire simulation with fire curve according to standard rules allows to optimize method of the beam reinforcement to utilize the beam load capacity in a most effective way for given environmental conditions.
